Shortly after building the Game-Media Room for the Wounded Warriors Home in San Antonio, we launched our gaming division, GAME HAVENS. We loved designing and building this room for the soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan – a hybrid game and media room. Two gaming stations with 55” flat-screen TVs, in-wall speakers and subwoofer, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii are on the left and two identical gaming stations are on the right of the room as you walk in. Turn the chairs around and you have a giant drop down screen and Runco projector for movies or the big game!
Today’s media rooms have changed to multi-purpose rooms, and we’re creating the perfect environments for every tween, teen, college kid and family for endless nights of entertainment. And nobody understands gaming like we do. We’ve got a team of teenagers and college kids – expert gamers, always giving their input on what’s cool, what’s different and what’s missing in the average media room.
Most audio video installers think of playrooms and kids’ rooms as after thoughts. We look at these as ultimate fun rooms for a mass of teens on Saturday night who want to hang out and stay awake until 3 am. We’re designing double-screen walls (for multi-player gaming) and floating cabinets on the wall that hold thin-AV receivers, Xbox and PS3 consoles and all those controllers. We’re installing ultimate 2.1 and 3.1 in-wall speaker and subwoofer systems in kids’ rooms – that little something extra that still stays in a budget. Whether it’s motion gaming (Kinect, Move, Wii), Youtubing, or a night of Netflixing, we’re making kids’ rooms and playrooms the ultimate game havens! And you can see more of us at www.gamehavens.com
